Adjunct Instructor, Vocal Music
Qualified instructor to teach weekly private music (voice) instruction for 8-10 college students for the academic year . Sessions are 30 minutes each and can be scheduled as either in-person or via online methods. In this sequence of courses (Voice 1-8), students move from cultivation of a well‑produced vocal tone through employment of technical exercise and study of simple literature. Later studies consider more advanced literature in foreign languages, interpretation, comprehensive musicianship, and public performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Directs small ensembles as identified by faculty
- Creates musical arrangements as directed by faculty
- Maintains an inventory of music and equipment for the program
- Works with the Office of Student Success to assist with academic support for undergraduate music majors
- Assists music faculty and the Office of Admissions in student recruitment activities for the music program

Education and/or experience in voice instruction, choral leadership, and/or professional work. Education at the Master’s or higher is desired, but alternate experience will be considered as well.
Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma with at least two years related experience and/or training; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
