We are hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with an established manufacturer in Newport, Tennessee.
This is a hands on engineering role for someone who prefers being involved in thi production rather than spending the entire day behind a desk. You will work closely with operators, maintenance, quality, production leadership, and other engineers to troubleshoot issues and improve manufacturing processes.
The company is open to candidates from different manufacturing backgrounds. The most important factors are strong plant floor experience, practical problem solving skills, and a track record of making improvements that produced real results.
What You Will Do- Spend the majority of your time supporting manufacturing operations on the production floor
- Troubleshoot production, equipment, tooling, and process issues
- Conduct root cause analysis and help implement corrective actions
- Improve quality, efficiency, throughput, downtime, scrap, and overall process performance
- Work directly with operators/maintenance/quality/production leadership
- Support improvements to equipment, tooling, fixtures, workstations, and production processes
- Create or update drawings, fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing designs using Solid Works
- Help standardize processes and improve work instructions
- Follow projects through implementation and confirm the improvements are working
- Support daily production needs along with longer term process improvement projects
- Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Production Engineer, or in a similar manufacturing role
- Experience working directly inside an active manufacturing facility
- Comfortable spending most of the workday on the production floor
- Experience troubleshooting production problems and completing root cause analysis
- Experience implementing process or manufacturing improvements
- Solid Works experience
- Ability to work effectively with operators, maintenance, quality, supervisors, and plant leadership
- Ability to explain specific problems you have solved and the results of your work
Candidates with experience in automotive, appliance, metal fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, or other manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply.
