Job Summary
Performs routine administrative support work. Work involves compiling and tabulating data; checking documents for accuracy; transporting documents; and maintaining files. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and proof correspondence, inventory documents, manuals, purchase orders, records, reports, requisitions, summaries, and related forms; post information to agency records; and modify forms and records.
- Assist in conducting inventory; pick up, deliver, and unload supplies, equipment, and materials; receive, store, and issue stock items; inspect merchandise for quality and compliance with specifications; and reconcile inventory reports to physical balances.
- Compile, organize, and tabulate data; perform calculations and data entry and retrieval; and make adjusting entries.
- Open, sort, log, and distribute mail; file and maintain supplies, forms, records, and reports; and make copies.
- Perform a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
- Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED.
- One year full‑time, wage‑earning customer service, clerical, secretarial, administrative support, or technical program support experience; or fifteen semester hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each six months of experience.
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures, business terminology, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- Knowledge of agency and departmental organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations (preferred).
- Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
- Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public.
- Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Skill to prepare and maintain complex records and files in an automated system.
- Skill to make arithmetic computations.
- Skill in using computers and related equipment in a stand‑alone or local area network environment.
- Preferred ability to operate a 10‑key calculator by touch.
- Preferred ability to type 45 words per minute (with no more than 10 errors).
Work Environment Requirements
Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs and ladders, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry 45 lbs. and over, perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle, and operate motor equipment. Conditions include working indoors, around machines with moving parts and moving objects, radiant and electrical energy, closely with others, alone, protracted or irregular hours, at heights, on ladders or scaffolding, and traveling by car, van, bus, and airplane.
Equipment used includes computer and related equipment, calculator, copier, fax machine, hand truck, pallet jack, platform truck, drum cradle, telephone, dolly, and automobile.
Salary: $3,100.05 (RET 2.5% less) per month.
