Overview

We’re looking for a Human Resources Manager who doesn’t just do HR, they elevate it. In this role, you’ll partner closely with our Chief People Officer on high-impact initiatives, and champion efficiency, accountability, and legendary customer service across the board. Key responsibilities include owning big projects, developing organization-wide communications, and spotting opportunities to add value before others even notice the gap.

As the Regional HR Manager, you’ll enhance not only our processes, but our culture, reputation, and future growth.

This role will work out of our corporate office in St. Louis, MO and will be responsible for 25% travel to Tacony’s other locations - St. James, MO, Ft. Worth, TX, and Henderson, NV.

If you thrive on challenges, communicate with clarity, and turn “HR initiatives” into “HR wins,” then this is your next adventure!

What We Do

What began in Nick Tacony’s basement as a post-war, start-up company 80 years ago has since grown into an internationally recognized global products company with 8 locations, 300+ employees, and successful sales in over 100 countries. Now operating under experienced 3rd generation family leadership, Tacony Corporation (Tacony) is ready to write its next chapter as a distributor, manufacturer, wholesaler, and marketer of diverse and innovative products in the sewing, home floor care, and commercial cleaning marketplace.

We aren’t just looking for anybody; we are dedicated to finding someone who enjoys what they do, enjoys the people they work with and for, and wants to be part of a growth-oriented, people-first, purposeful organization that is dedicated to the customer and its mission and vision.

What You'll Do
  • Manage HR projects to include planning, coordinating tasks, and communicating updates regularly to keep projects aligned with deadlines
  • Support compensation initiatives by maintaining updated job descriptions with consistent classification and job titles, and frequent monitoring of market data for the company’s salary structure and variable pay programs
  • Participate in changes including developing job descriptions, researching market data, and communicating new roles within the regional facilities to the appropriate departments
  • Participate in the development, implementation, support and review of all HR initiatives, policies and procedures
  • Implement HR programs and provide HR services, including onboarding, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, and completing employee change transactions
  • Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Ensure the organization is compliant with local, state, and federal legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
  • Address employee questions, complaints and other employment-related issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Investigate employee disciplinary issues and conflicts; bringing them to appropriate resolution
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development (preferred) and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a Human Resources position
  • Demonstrated experience with employment laws, practices and an elevated level of confidentiality and trust
  • Effective communicator, excellent organization, efficiency, and prioritization of duties
  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills focused on fostering relationships and approachability
  • Strength of character, ethics, commitment and reliability with an aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving and decision making
Bonus Points (Preferred)
  • Project management skills — special projects by clarifying project objective, setting timetables and schedules, conducting research, developing and organizing information
  • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification
