SummaryThe Patient Account Analyst processes payments to facilitate even cash flow for the organization.
Responsibilities- Promptly and accurately processes payments to facilitate even cash flow for the organization.
- Reviews all accounts on the assigned portion of Accounts Receivable via the Aged Trial Balance and batches. Appropriately posts or refunds accounts to bring accounts to a zero balance status.
- Resolves minor problems, answers questions, and uses good judgment to insure that patient care is not compromised. Proactively responds to problems relative to system procedure errors, i.e. coding, registration, charging, posting, authorization issues.
- Reviews and analyzes daily/weekly monthly reports to ensure timely filing. Audits payments, allowances, rejected claims to identify and resolve claims/EOP/EOB revenue cycle issues.
PARDEE
Qualifications Required- Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in a healthcare or finance/accounting office.
- Proficient written and verbal communication.
- Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding.
- Experience working in or with an Electronic Medical Recordkeeping (EMR) system such as EPIC.
- Experience and/or education/training in medical terminology.
