Behavioral Health Outreach & Marketing Specialist

Summary:

The Behavioral Health Outreach & Marketing Specialist is responsible for promoting Pardee UNC's Behavioral Health Service Line through strategic outreach, relationship-building, and marketing initiatives. This role serves as a key liaison between the hospital's behavioral health service line and community stakeholders, referral sources, and internal teams to increase awareness, referrals, and appropriate utilization of services.

Responsibilities:

+ Establishes and maintains professional relationships with community referral sources, including hospitals, emergency departments, primary care providers, schools, therapists, social service agencies, employers, and community agencies

+ Represents Pardee UNC Health Behavioral Health Services at approved community events, meetings, and educational forums

+ Serves as a point of contact for general service information and referral pathway education

+ Conducts regular in person outreach visits to promote inpatient and outpatient behavioral health programs

+ Provides education regarding behavioral health programs, populations served, and levels of care

+ Collaborates with hospital marketing and leadership teams to develop and execute marketing strategies specific to behavioral health services

+ Gathers and shares market intelligence, including community needs, competitor offerings and referral trends

+ Distributes and presents marketing and educational materials in accordance with UNC Health branding and communication guidelines

+ Supports individual marketing initiatives aligned with organizational strategy

+ Works closely with inpatient and outpatient clinical teams to understand services, capacity and patient flow.

+ Collaborates with intake, clinical leadership, and administrative teams to remain current on services, program changes, and approved messaging

+ Communicates community feedback, trends, and opportunities to leadership

+ Participates in interdisciplinary meetings to align outreach efforts with operational goals

+ Track outreach activities, referral patterns, and marketing outcomes using hospital reporting tools.

+ Prepare regular reports summarizing outreach efforts, referral growth, and market opportunities.

+ Use data to adjust outreach strategies and improve effectiveness

Other information:

+ Bachelor's degree in marketing, nursing, healthcare administration, communications, public health, social work, or a related field

+ Experience in behavioral health or substance abuse services

+ Knowledge of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health levels of care

+ Two or more years of experience in healthcare outreach, marketing, community relations, or a related role

+ Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a complex healthcare environment
