Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities
This position performs intermediate-level professional analytical work in support of human resources programs and operations. The position is responsible for analyzing HR data, interpreting policies and regulations, conducting research and audits, and providing consultative support to departments. Work includes developing reports, identifying trends and risks, supporting compliance efforts, and contributing to HRIS and process‑improvement initiatives. Work is performed under general supervision and requires the exercise of independent judgment and problem‑solving skills.
Reports to the Human Resources Program Administrator.
Thorough knowledge of human resources principles and public‑sector HR practices;
Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and compliance requirements;
Thorough knowledge of County policies and procedures;
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills;
Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel;
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff;
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments;
Thorough knowledge of computers and various software applications, and other required office equipment;
Ability to attend work regularly.
Completion of North Carolina OSHR Qualification Courses within one year of employment.
Pre‑employment drug test, SBI Background screening and background checks required of finalist applicants.
