Position Summary

As the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), you will partner closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee daily nursing operations, mentor clinical staff, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care.

You will play a vital role in developing a strong clinical team while promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), you will:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily clinical operations

  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and support nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)

  • Promote exceptional resident care and positive clinical outcomes

  • Monitor clinical documentation, assessments, and care plan compliance

  • Support infection prevention initiatives, quality improvement programs, and survey readiness

  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, workflow management, and team accountability

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary departments to enhance resident outcomes

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations

  • Help build a positive, engaged, and high-performing nursing team

Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) License

  • Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing experience required

  • Previous leadership, Unit Manager, Charge Nurse, or supervisory experience preferred

  • Strong clinical assessment, leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop high-performing teams

  • Passion for delivering exceptional resident care and leading by example
