Pardee Bariatrics provides comprehensive surgical and medical weight-loss care through a personalized approach and customized treatment plans designed to help patients achieve their long-term health goals. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary bariatric and general surgery practice, supporting patients throughout their weight-loss journey while contributing to high-quality surgical care.

The primary focus of this role will be medical weight management, including individualized patient consultations, development of treatment plans, and ongoing support for patients seeking healthier lifestyles and sustainable weight loss. The APP will also participate in all phases of bariatric care, including preoperative evaluation, postoperative management, and surgical support for both bariatric and general surgery procedures.

Key Responsibilities Medical Weight Management
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history review, physical examinations, and assessment of weight-loss goals.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based medical weight-loss strategies.

  • Prescribe and manage appropriate pharmacologic therapies consistent with departmental protocols and credentialing requirements.

  • Provide ongoing counseling and education regarding nutrition, exercise, lifestyle modification, and long-term wellness.

  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated.

Bariatric and Surgical Care
  • Participate in the preoperative evaluation and preparation of bariatric and general surgery patients.

  • Provide postoperative care, follow-up, and long-term management for surgical patients.

  • Assist the surgeon in the operating room for bariatric and general surgery procedures as needed.

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

Clinical Excellence
  • Obtain and interpret relevant diagnostic tests and clinical data to formulate differential diagnoses and treatment plans.

  • Implement evidence-based clinical practices and quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes.

  • Conduct preventive health screenings and promote overall health and wellness.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive documentation in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Continuously evaluate and revise plans of care to meet the evolving needs of patients.

Patient Experience and Care Coordination
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, surgical expectations, and follow-up care.

  • Foster strong patient relationships through compassionate, respectful, and timely communication.

  • Promote continuity of care through collaboration with physicians, clinical staff, and community providers.

  • Support efficient clinic operations and patient flow to ensure timely access to care.

Quality Improvement and Leadership
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and organizational performance programs.

  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve clinical processes, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with leadership and multidisciplinary teams to evaluate and enhance models of care.

  • Contribute to a culture of excellence, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Candidate Qualifications Required
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with at least 2 years APP experience

  • Current or eligible North Carolina licensure.

  • Current NCCPA certification (PA) or national board certification (NP).

  • DEA certification or eligibility.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
