Position Summary

The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care and clinical support to providers and the clinical team. The RN will perform nursing assessments, assist with patient visits and procedures, administer medications and treatments as ordered, provide patient education, respond to patient calls and electronic messages, assist with care coordination, and ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. The RN will work closely with providers, CMAs, front office staff, and management to ensure patients receive safe, efficient, compassionate, and personalized care.

The primary work location will be Prime Health Hendersonville. Because Prime Health is a growing organization with multiple locations and evolving staffing needs, the RN may occasionally be asked to float to another Prime Health location to provide clinical coverage and support. Advance notice will be provided whenever reasonably possible.

Essential Responsibilities

Patient Care

  • Perform nursing assessments and obtain accurate patient histories.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and other clinical information.
  • Assess patients and communicate significant findings to the provider.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Administer medications, injections, vaccines, and treatments as ordered.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately.
  • Perform wound care and other nursing treatments within scope of practice.
  • Assist with care coordination and follow-up.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly notify the provider.
  • Provide compassionate, respectful, patient-centered care.

Telephone Triage & Patient Communication

  • Respond to patient telephone calls and electronic messages.
  • Triage patient concerns according to established protocols and scope of practice.
