Position SummarySymbiotic Services is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing manufacturing company. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily accounting transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end close activities. Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred, particularly with inventory management, inventory reconciliation, or job costing.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where accuracy and timeliness are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of daily financial transactions.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations, as needed.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory balances, investigate discrepancies, and assist with inventory adjustments.
- Support inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Assist with job costing, product costing, or work-in-process (WIP) accounting when applicable.
- Prepare financial reports and provide supporting documentation for management.
- Maintain organized accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
- Assist external accountants and auditors by preparing requested documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and other accounting projects as assigned.
Required Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent bookkeeping experience will also be considered.
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and general accounting practices.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Experience using accounting software or ERP systems such as Quick Books, Sage, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Previous bookkeeping experience in a manufacturing environment
. - Experience with inventory management, inventory reconciliation, or inventory valuation
. - Knowledge of job costing, product costing, bill of materials (BOMs), or work-in-process (WIP) accounting is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations through financial reporting and inventory controls.
