Morrison Healthcare is hiring immediately for full time and part time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE/DIETARY AIDE positions.

Location:

Ballad Health Johnson City Medical Center – 400 North State of Franklin Road, Johnson City, Tennessee 37604. Schedule varies: full time 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and 11:00 am to 7:30 pm; part time 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Rotating weekends and holidays. Phone interviews will be conducted.

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering and picking up meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction by delivering meals at the right time and temperature.

• Help patients understand their menu selections and coordinate with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements or restrictions.
• Collaborate with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for allergies, sensitivities, cultural/ethnic/religious preferences, or additional selections.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
• Comply with regulatory standards (federal, state, JCAHO). Maintain facility confidentiality and patient rights per HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and when cleaning workstations and breaking down the tray line.
• Adhere to facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians by monitoring patients on restricted diets or specific calorie counts as needed.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, and maneuver and push food delivery carts.
