Responsible for inspecting and finishing metal surfaces to ensure cleanliness and absence of surface irregularities before painting.

• Grinds parts and/or components to acceptable surface profiles.
• Applies adhesives, caulk, and bondo to appropriate metal surfaces.
• Smooths surface of parts to a specified finish.
• Polishes metal surface.
• Examines and feels surface of metal to detect defects such as dents, scratches, or breaks in metal.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
