Our client is seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day assignment in Tennessee, starting Aug 24, 2026. This role involves 7p-7a shifts, focusing on comprehensive pre- and post-operative evaluations, daily rounding on cardiac surgery patients, managing various post-op complications, and assisting the surgical team in the operating room.

• Perform pre- and post-operative evaluations
• Daily rounding on cardiac surgery patients
• Manage post-op complications and changes in patient condition
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, EKGs, etc.
• Manage medications, including anticoagulation and cardiac medications
• Manage chest tubes, drains, pacing wires, and lines
• Wound/incision assessment and management
• Coordinate care with cardiology, ICU, anesthesia, and other services
• Patient/family education and discharge planning
• Assisting in OR

• Cases include: CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting), Valve disease, Aortic disease — aneurysm and dissection, Impella placement, TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement), Structural heart procedures. These make up approximately 90-95% of OR cases.
