This position supports the Company’s external SEC reporting and technical accounting functions, serving as a key contributor in preparing high-quality filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K), supporting earnings-related materials and XBRL tagging, and leading research and documentation for complex, non-routine transactions and new accounting standards. You will partner closely with Controllership, FP&A, Legal, SOX/Internal Audit, Investor Relations, and external auditors to ensure timely, compliant, and decision-useful disclosures aligned with U.S. GAAP, SEC requirements, and ICFR/SOX.
You will report to the Senior Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting.
This position will primarily be responsible for supporting the preparation and coordination of the Company’s quarterly and annual external/financial reporting processes. Specifically, this role will support the following:
- Preparation and/or review of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, including external financial statements, statement of cash flows, and footnotes in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
- Coordinate the SEC reporting calendar and cross‑functional PBC requests; perform tie‑out validation procedures and maintain supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency across filings, earnings releases, and investor materials.
- Maintain strong ICFR/SOX documentation and operate key controls for external reporting and select technical areas; support internal/external audits and address PBCs requirements.
- Lead research, analysis, and technical accounting memos on non‑routine and complex transactions (e.g., business combinations, asset acquisitions, impairments, etc.), establish accounting policies for new business transactions, and continuously improve existing policies.
- Evaluate new accounting standards, drive adoption plans (policy updates, system/process changes), and provide training to stakeholders; maintain the accounting policy manual.
- Review significant contracts and transactions with Legal, Treasury, Tax, and Business Development to conclude on appropriate recognition, measurement, and disclosure.
- Support the Controllership in other ad‑hoc projects and analysis which may include benchmarking, peer disclosure analysis and other technical accounting research impacting the business.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent, CPA required. - Work Experience:
3+ years’ relevant experience in BIG 4 or public Company SEC reporting/technical accounting (mix of audit + industry is a plus). - Demonstrated technical accounting capability (U.S. GAAP research, memo drafting, policy implementation).
- Hands‑on experience with Workviva and XBRL/iXBRL or comparable tools; advanced Excel.
- Strong project management, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills under tight deadlines.
- Experience with SAP is a plus.
- Experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical device, life science, or clinical diagnostics industry. is a plus.
This position must be based in Hercules, California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

CompensationThe estimated base salary range for this position is $121,200 to $166,700 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job‑permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
