Location: Onsite, Hercules, CA Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Duration: 6 months

Pay Range: $51–$71/hr Depending on experience

Role Overview

The EHS Specialist III supports environmental, health, and safety programs across R&D, manufacturing, and distribution operations in Northern California. Working closely with the Northern California EHS Manager and a global EHS team, this role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, strengthens safety culture, and drives continuous improvement across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate onsite occupational safety programs, including lockout/tagout, industrial ergonomics, hazard communication, chemical management, and biosafety.
  • Manage environmental safety programs related to stormwater, air quality, hazardous waste, and chemical storage.
  • Lead onsite safety teams, including emergency response teams and safety committees.
  • Support EHS initiatives across multiple locations to enhance safety culture and sustainability performance.
  • Develop and deliver safety training tailored to site needs.
  • Partner with manufacturing and regulatory teams to review processes, materials, and product safety data sheet (SDS) development.
  • Lead accident and incident investigations, identifying corrective actions and long‑term solutions.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as safety and health, engineering, biology, or chemistry.
  • 5+ years of experience in occupational and environmental health and safety.
  • Strong working knowledge of Cal/OSHA, EPA regulations, and related compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with local and county regulatory agencies.
  • Familiarity with SAP, PowerBI, Docu Sign, Smartsheets, or UL Wercs.
