Overview
As a Regional Supplier Quality Manager
, you will play a key leadership role overseeing supplier quality and compliance activities across the region. Your day involves collaborating with a team of Supplier Quality Engineers to drive performance at critical suppliers, ensuring raw materials and semi-finished goods meet quality and regulatory standards. You will act as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders on supplier-related quality issues, lead supplier qualification and onboarding efforts, and manage risk through programs like the Supplier Risk Assessment Program (SRAP).
Continuous improvement is central to the role, with activities including reviewing defect trends, overseeing audits, and executing mitigation plans to reduce supply chain risk. The role also demands cross-functional engagement, clear communication, and strategic thinking to support manufacturing and operational goals.
- Drive supplier performance and compliance by leading audits, managing supplier qualifications, and ensuring ongoing adherence to regulations to maintain a reliable and compliant supply base that meets quality expectations.
- Lead regional supplier risk mitigation by proactively executing the Supplier Risk Assessment Program (SRAP) to identify and address potential risks in the supply chain, safeguarding business continuity and product availability.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives by investigating supplier quality issues, analyzing defect trends, and implementing data‑driven solutions to reduce nonconformances and improve supplier capabilities.
- Act as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders by aligning quality priorities with procurement, manufacturing, and global quality teams, influencing regional decisions and supporting business goals.
- Develop and coach a regional SQE team by managing and mentoring a geographically dispersed group of Supplier Quality Engineers to ensure consistent execution of quality programs and foster professional development.
- Strong Educational Foundation
: A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management, with a preference for an advanced degree (MS). - Extensive Experience In Quality And Supply Chain
:
Over 8 years of experience in supply/value chain management, quality, compliance, and regulatory environments—ideally within medical devices, life sciences, or biotech. - Leadership and Team Management
:
Demonstrated ability to lead a team or project, with 0–3 years of people management experience and a proven record of executing quality initiatives with cross-functional teams. - Regulatory and Quality Systems Expertise
:
Working knowledge of FDA and ISO 13485 standards, along with experience in supplier audits, onboarding, and compliance activities (e.g., RoHS, REACH). - Top 5 Key Attributes
