Salary: $80,000 - $120,000
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Controls Technician to support installation, service, and optimization of building automation and HVAC control systems across commercial facilities. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, programming, and maintaining control systems to ensure efficiency, performance, and reliability. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with major BAS platforms, specifically Johnson Controls (JCI), Distech, and Automated Logic (ALC).
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, and service building automation and HVAC control systems (BAS/DDC)
- Troubleshoot system issues involving controllers, sensors, wiring, and integration
- Perform system startups, commissioning, and calibration
- Read and interpret control drawings, sequences, and electrical schematics
- Complete preventative maintenance and performance checks
- Work closely with HVAC teams and clients to resolve operational issues
- Document work performed, system changes, and service reports
- 1+ years of experience with building automation or HVAC controls
- Hands-on experience with JCI, Distech, and/or Automated Logic (ALC) systems (strongly preferred)
- Working knowledge of BAS/DDC systems, controls wiring, and system architecture
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with commissioning and system integration
- Background in HVAC service or mechanical systems
- Familiarity with energy management systems
- Relevant technical certifications (controls, HVAC, or electrical)
