Maintenance Operative

TXM Recruit are currently looking for a maintenance operative to work for a rapidly expanding retail maintenance team on a long‑term cover situation; however, the likelihood is for a permanent role at the end of 3 months.

• Salary: 28,024.11 yr (£13.47/hr)
• Hours:
  
  6am to 3pm – Monday to Friday (can be flexed for childcare etc)
• Weekends: 1-in-4 weekend shift (1.25x rate for Sunday)
• Overtime: 1.5x
• Company van and tools & uniform provided

• General reactive maintenance in store from toilets, shop floor and communal areas.
• Changing light bulbs, replacing taps or toilet seats, hanging doors or fixing shelves. Patch plaster, rendering, painting or minor carpentry and plumbing repairs.
• PPMs such as Legionella, Fire Alarm Testing, Sprinkler Testing (training provided).
• Building inspections including roof walks and building checks.
• Daily duties to ensure the tablet is updated, reporting issues, H&S notes or sending emails. Technology used: PDA tablet and company‑provided smartphone.

• Personal use of van at £60/month.
• Holiday starting at 25 days + a personal day (plus bank holidays).
• Flexitime on hours.
• Colleague discount card, shopping, mobile, pharmacy etc. (after 3 months probation) – provides discounts on shopping and fuel at 10% whilst gaining up to 50% off other parts of the company.
• Regular training and progression.
• Retirement plan – save between 4‑7% and have it matched.
• Yearly bonus scheme – up to 10% of basic salary.
• Maternity and paternity etc. – more can be sent out.
