Freight Flow Associate

Position Summary

Sam's Club # Maple Grove Rd, Hermantown, MN

• Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity, implementing action plans and the Open Door Policy.
• Operate a forklift safely and follow company standards, picking up, moving, placing, and positioning merchandise pallets.
• Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners.
• Identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations, carry out tasks, communicate progress, and recommend ways to address improvement opportunities.
• Receive, organize, and manage stock and merchandise from distribution centers and suppliers, maintaining inventory flow and documenting required paperwork.
• Provide member service by acknowledging members, identifying needs, supporting self‑service technology, assisting purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues, and promoting company products.
• Maintain facility safety by conducting sweeps, following forklift spotting procedures, handling hazardous materials, and reporting unsafe situations.
• Maintain the sales floor and merchandising presentation, properly zoning, stocking, rotating merchandise, removing damaged or out‑of‑date goods, setting up displays, and ensuring promotional merchandise is prominently displayed.
• Process defective merchandise according to company and regulatory policies, monitor shrink and security risks, and maintain sanitation and food safety.
• Assist with club pickup orders, ensuring products are selected, staged, and audited within acceptable time frames.
• Track inventory, maintain in‑stock levels, and control shrinkage, reporting poor inventory practices and low levels.
• Operate and maintain forklifts safely, report unsafe conditions, and notify management when forklifts are not in proper working order.
• Proactively identify customers who need technology assistance and model the use of technology services.
• Identify and resolve shrink opportunities and problems with products and work areas.
• Maintain and organize equipment and stocked product areas, promptly fixing any issues.
• Demonstrate inclusion, teamwork, integrity, and service to customers and members.

• 90 days of prior experience with forklift certification; ability to safely utilize pallet jacks.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Customer service experience.
• Retail experience.
• Experience supervising a team.

The hourly wage range for this position is $20.50 to $28.50. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the minimum wage applicable to the job location.
