Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship with clients, bank personnel, product providers, and adviser support staff. Participate in reciprocal lead activities and sales pipeline meetings to identify opportunities for new or repeat business and fully utilise the bank’s bancassurance structure.
- Assess clients’ needs using recommended needs‑analysis tools, prepare recommendations and quotes for appropriate risk and investment solutions, present the advice ensuring FAIS regulations are followed, and provide regular feedback to regional management.
- Meet sales and growth targets by planning client outreach, using the bank’s financial needs analysis tool, obtaining client consent, recommending suitable products, completing applications, and ensuring all compliance documentation is submitted.
- Manage commission earnings, capture the correct policy relevant information number in the commission system, verify commission statements, and keep the client database up to date.
- Practice management: ensure adviser assistants understand their roles, provide training and coaching, participate in performance development discussions, and implement controls for compliant record keeping.
- Personal development: attend required internal training, attain accreditation to market the bank’s approved products, and maintain fit and proper status.
- Minimum 2–3 years of financial planning/advice experience in long‑term insurance and investment.
- Academic qualification of NQF 5 (FSB approved) with at least 120 FAIS credits.
- RE 5 certification and fit‑and‑proper status for FAIS licensed advice.
- Proficient in conducting Financial Needs Analysis and presenting recommendations under FAIS licence categories.
- Ability to manage client relationships, commissions, and adviser staff effectively.
Relevant academic and professional qualifications as listed above, including ongoing training and compliance exams such as Anti‑Money Laundering, Sanctions, BCM, and Basic Financial Crime Concepts.
