# Chef de Partie This role forms part of the Kitchen team at Harbour House Hotel, located in the heart of Hermanus.
** The Role
** As Chef de Partie, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality dishes that reflect the Harbour House Hotel’s signature dining standards. Working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you’ll manage your assigned section of the kitchen, ensuring every plate leaving the pass meets the highest level of taste, presentation and consistency. This position suits a passionate, organised and detail-oriented chef with a strong sense of teamwork and pride in their craft.
** Key Responsibilities**– Prepare and present dishes in line with the restaurant’s recipes and quality standards  – Manage mise en place and daily prep for your section to ensure efficient service  – Maintain excellent communication with other kitchen and front-of-house team members  – Uphold food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards at all times  – Assist in menu development, seasonal updates and specials when required  – Train and guide junior staff members within your section  – Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering to reduce waste and control costs  – Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in maintaining smooth daily kitchen operations
** What We’re Looking For**– Recognised culinary qualification or equivalent professional experience  – Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Chef de Partie or Demi Chef in a similar environment  – Strong technical cooking skills and sound knowledge of kitchen operations  – Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency  – Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude  – Attention to detail, time management and commitment to excellence  – Availability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
