Special Education Teacher (Grades 6‑8) – Sandstone Middle School

Hermiston, Oregon. Full‑time position. Starting date:
August 17, 2026.

Hermiston School District seeks a fully licensed or licensure‑eligible Special Education teacher to serve grades 6‑8. Responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons for special education students, collaborating with co‑teachers, participating in IEP meetings, and supporting student progress in accordance with state regulations.

• Develop and implement instructional plans for special education students.
• Assist with the creation and review of IEPs with school team.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff.
• Provide individualized instruction and behavioral support.
• Maintain accurate student records and reporting.
• Participate in professional development and team meetings.

• Valid Oregon Special Education teaching license or eligibility to obtain one before the school year starts.
• Experience working with students with special educational needs (preferably Grades 6‑8).
• Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
• Citizenship or legal residency status required.

Annual salary range: $50,849 – $101,497. Additional benefits include PERS retirement, employer‑paid lease transfer, tuition reimbursement, and comprehensive health insurance. Full‑year contract consists of 193 days, including 3 paid holidays.
