Job Description

Hermiston School District is seeking a full‑time Mathematics teacher for Hermiston High School, available beginning with the 2026‑2027 school year. The successful candidate will be properly licensed (Advanced Mathematics Preferred) or have the ability to obtain licensure to teach Mathematics at the high school level. A successful candidate without an Advanced Math endorsement will be expected to obtain their advanced math licensure within two years.

Position begins August 2026.

Hermiston High School educates a growing population of approximately 1,500 students in grades 9‑12, supported by over 120 teachers and staff. The school offers a robust array of content courses, elective curricula aligned with regional college degrees and certificates, and programs that allow students to earn college credits. Hermiston High School consistently performs at or above the state average and has a high completion rate, with approximately 60% of graduates attending 2‑ and 4‑year institutions.

The Hermiston School District is the largest district in eastern Oregon, serving over 5,300 students K‑12 and providing a mission of rigorous, engaging programs and high expectations. It includes one senior high school, two middle schools, and six elementary schools. The district employs more than 630 full‑time staff, including about 390 teachers.

Salary and Benefits

Salary for the 2026‑2027 school year ranges from $50,849 to $101,497 per year. Benefits include PERS retirement, employer‑paid transportation, tuition reimbursement, and a comprehensive health and benefits plan. The contract is for a full year (193 days), including 3 paid holidays.
