Job DescriptionThe Hermiston School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Special Education Assistant, Life Skills at Hermiston High School. The successful candidate will provide direct student support under the supervision of the Special Education teacher, lift students as needed, administer medical care (training provided), and assist with physical needs and other related tasks.
Responsibilities- Provide direct support to students with special education needs.
- Assist with physical lifting and movement of students.
- Administer medical care when necessary, following training.
- Support students with physical needs and other tasks related to life skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of an associate’s degree or 72 college credit hours, or completion of the Para Pro or Work Keys assessment.
- Demonstrated moral character and behavior suitable for a role model.
- Previous experience working with students is desired.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
$17.24 to $24.25 per hour
