Base Compensation: $185,000 - $215,000
Plus Bonus Opportunity
Annual CME allowance, PTO, and other great benefits provided.
Schedule: 40 hours per week - Day shift
Note: May work an occasional Saturday as we expand clinic hours.
ResponsibilitiesJob Overview
Good Shepherd Health Care System is seeking an experienced Orthopaedic Physician Assistant to join our orthopedic clinic team. In this nonsurgical role, you will focus on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and managing patient recovery. Previous experience in an orthopedic clinic is required. If you're dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care, we invite you to apply.
Responsibilities& Duties
- Conduct patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical exams.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and blood tests.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and recommending physical therapy.
- Perform wound care and manage cast application/removal.
- Administer injections, including corticosteroids and joint aspirations.
- Provide patient education on injury prevention, treatment plans, and recovery.
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Document patient information, treatment plans, and progress in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or related field.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current, unrestricted Oregon state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant.
- DEA unrestricted license for prescribing medications.
- Previous experience working in an orthopedic clinic is required.
- Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions and treatments.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
