As the medical records specialist, you uphold patient confidentiality and rights, maintaining a well-organized system of open and closed medical records.
You Will- Assemble and label the admission records assuring chart tabs are readable
- Maintain records in proper order per open chart format
- Provide diagnostic and treatment information to third-party payers to support reimbursement claims
- Retrieve records for use by administrative or interdisciplinary personnel for resident care, quality improvement, incident tracking, investigation, and other authorized purposes
- Audit open charts
- Responsible for all discharge records, including filing charts.
- Have prior experience working in long-term care, and medical terminology knowledge is strongly preferred
- Strong HIPAA knowledge is preferred
