We are looking for an Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Hermiston, OR. The right IR Tech should have 1 year of recent acute care experience.
ResponsibilitiesAs an IR Tech, you will be responsible for operating the fluoroscopic equipment and assisting physicians with minimally invasive, image‑guided procedures. You will also prepare and observe patients undergoing procedures and report abnormal activity.
- Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain procedures to patients, providing reassurance and support as required.
- Assist in scrubbing all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Monitor patient during all procedures.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of radiation protection standards, devices, and techniques to assure adequate safeguards are maintained.
- Demonstrate knowledge of physiology and anatomy, including major and minor systems susceptible to radiologic exposure and the appearance of pathologic lesions as depicted in the IR clinic.
- Operate intravenous (I.V.) and dye injector pumps.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system.
Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ACLS, and ARRT (R) National Certification and state‑specific licensing when required. Vascular Interventional certificate preferred.
IR Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean or stoop without difficulty, and have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
