Job DescriptionProvides health care services by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics.
Responsibilities- Performs diagnostic radiography procedures.
- Corroborates patient's clinical history with the procedure.
- Prepares patients for procedures and provides instructions to ensure cooperation and minimize anxiety.
- Selects and operates radiography equipment to achieve desired results.
- Positions patients and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest.
- Determines radiographic technique exposure factors while minimizing patient exposure.
- Evaluates images for technical quality and assures proper identification is recorded.
- Verifies informed consent for interventional procedures and assists licensed practitioners.
- Practices aseptic techniques as necessary and assumes responsibility for the provision of patient care.
- Operates Computed Tomographic equipment and selects appropriate programs.
- Evaluates images for technical quality and maintains archival storage of data.
- Completion of formal Radiologic Technology accredited program.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in radiography and CT or equivalent required by the state of Oregon.
- Licensed in the State of Oregon as Radiologic Technologist/CT Technologist.
- Current BLS certification.
- Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred.
