American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a Diagnostic Imaging department, requiring ARRT/NMTCB registration and BLS certification for a 13-week travel assignment.
Requirements- Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an ARRT/NMTCB-accredited Nuclear Medicine program
- ARRT or NMTCB registration as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience preferred
- Proficiency with radiation detection, imaging equipment, and radiopharmaceutical administration
- Ability to perform venipuncture
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and frequently push, pull, or reposition patients or objects up to 25 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift
- Diagnostic Imaging department in an acute care hospital setting
- Nuclear medicine procedures including radiopharmaceutical preparation, administration, and diagnostic imaging
- 3x12-hour day shifts, Friday through Sunday
- Potential to float to other departments within clinical scope before core staff is floated
- Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, selecting and operating imaging equipment, positioning patients, preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, and evaluating images for technical quality
- Verifies informed consent and assists licensed practitioners with interventional procedures
- Participates in department quality assessment and improvement initiatives, which may include specific quality control and inventory responsibilities
- May provide practical instruction to students and other healthcare professionals
- If the assignment extends beyond 6 months, CRASE training will be required
- Fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and medical equipment; PPE use is required
