Description

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Special Procedures with 3+ years of IR/Cath Lab experience and current ARRT(R) certification.

Details
  • 13-week contract in an Interventional Radiology/Cardiology department
  • 5x8-hour day shifts totaling 40 hours per week
  • Supports diagnostic and interventional procedures including vascular, non-vascular, and cardiac catheterization cases without EP or structural components
  • Rotates through imaging, scrub, and hemodynamic monitor roles as assigned
  • Uses fixed fluoroscopy equipment, portable ultrasound, and IVUS
  • Charts in Epic for charge entry when necessary
  • Ensures images are properly post-processed and transmitted to PACS
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required; BS in Radiologic Science/Medical Imaging preferred
  • ARRT(R) certification required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required (ACLS may be obtained within 6 months of hire)
  • State licensure issued by OBMI required if applicable
  • At least 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology and/or Cath Lab managing fluoroscopy and scrubbing interventional cases required; 3+ years preferred
  • Certifications specific to clinical specialty preferred (e.g., RCIS, NIH Stroke Scale)
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse patient populations across all age groups
Additional Information
  • Operates fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging systems while maintaining ALARA radiation safety principles
  • Functions as scrub technologist preparing sterile instruments, catheters, guide wires, and procedural trays for interventional and catheter-based cases
  • Serves as monitor technologist recording hemodynamic data, contrast usage, and procedural documentation when assigned
  • Collaborates with nursing and physicians on contrast allergy management and pre-procedure timeout processes
  • Assists with patient positioning, sedation support, and sheath pulls/vascular access management
  • Supports department operations including supply management, room turnover, and daily equipment checks
  • Reports and documents equipment malfunctions and assists with coordinating service calls
  • Bilingual English-Spanish speakers preferred
  • Reports to the Unit Manager and Surgical Services Director
