Position: Travel Polysomnographer / Sleep Technologist - Polysomnography

American Traveler is hiring a Polysomnography Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a night shift assignment requiring RPSGT or RRT-SDS certification.

Requirements
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required
  • Graduate of an accredited polysomnography or respiratory therapy program
  • Certification as RPSGT through BRPT or RRT-SDS through NBRC required
  • Oregon state license required if applicable
  • CRASE training required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and assist with patient transfers over 100 lbs using proper techniques
  • Sufficient auditory, visual, tactile, and motor abilities to safely operate equipment and monitor patients
Responsibilities
  • Work within a medical unit sleep lab setting
  • Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients undergoing sleep studies
  • Perform full polysomnogram procedures including setup, data acquisition, staging, scoring, and intervention
  • Fit and dispense CPAP/BiPAP devices and troubleshoot minor equipment issues
  • Administer oxygen and CPAP therapy per physician orders
  • 3x12 night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
  • Perform and score polysomnograms, MSLTs, and MWTs in accordance with AASM guidelines
  • Apply electrodes according to the International 10-20 System or lab-specific standards
  • Maintain and calibrate diagnostic equipment and report issues to supervisors
  • Provide patient and family education on CPAP and oxygen equipment use
  • Accurately document patient demographics, insurance, and equipment needs for timely charting and billing
  • Participate in orientation and training of new staff

    Maintain scoring competency through inter-rater reliability exercises and continuing education
  • Work in a fast-paced hospital environment with exposure to infectious materials, requiring consistent PPE use
