Min: $29.38 Mid: $ 37.09 Max: $ 59.14
The Registered Dietitian (RD) at Good Shepherd Medical Center is responsible for providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and expert nutritional care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The RD plays a key role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with various nutrition-related conditions while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
The RD utilizes the Nutrition Care Process (NCP), a systematic approach to nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, and evaluation to provide evidence-based and patient-focused care.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions
:
- Conducts nutrition assessments to evaluate a patient's dietary habits, medical history, and overall health status.
- Develop individualized nutrition care plans, including dietary modifications and therapeutic nutrition interventions.
- Provides nutrition education and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers to promote improved health outcomes.
- Provides group nutrition education to promote disease prevention and lifestyle modification.
- Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team members to integrate nutrition care into overall treatment plans.
- Monitors patient progress adjusts dietary plans as needed and ensures continuity of care.
- Stays up to date with scientific research and evidence-based practices in the fields of nutrition and dietetics.
- Participates in community outreach and public health initiatives related to nutrition and wellness.
- Participates in department quality improvement initiatives and professional development to stay current with best practices in nutrition care.

Education
Required:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in dietetics, food & nutrition, or related field. Successful completion of supervised practice experience in dietetics approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
Preferred:
Master’s Degree in dietetics or health-related field.
Licenses/ certifications/ registrations
Required:
Registered Dietitian (RD)/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. Licensed Dietitian with the Oregon Board of Licensed Dietitians or ability to obtain upon hire or immediately following new RD/RDN status.
