A Data Center Operations (DCO) Technician provides advanced technical support and maintenance for data center infrastructure, including complex troubleshooting of server hardware, networking equipment, and critical facility systems. This position requires knowledge in maintaining optimal data center operations while ensuring maximum uptime through hardware installations, system monitoring, and infrastructure maintenance.
Responsibilities- Perform hardware break‑fix on a variety of components and conduct network troubleshooting to resolve operational incidents that impact service availability.
- Install, rack, and cable new equipment, while also finding innovative solutions to complex problems within the data center.
- Participate in a primary responder rotation and provide after‑hours support to monitor infrastructure, coordinate incident response, and elevate issues to senior technicians and management as needed.
- Contribute to a culture of safety by safely moving and lifting equipment, including the ability to lift up to 35 pounds alone and participate in group lifts for heavier items (36+ pounds).
- Work in a variety of environments, including cramped, elevated, and noisy areas, while performing physical tasks such as bending, stretching, and ascending ladders.
- Assist in training and onboarding new team members, sharing your knowledge and helping to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Travel within the regional work area using your own reliable vehicle to respond to various data center locations. Continuous learning, and provides clear paths for career growth. - Familiarity with computer software and network hardware.
- Experience working in uncomfortable or cramped environments.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong work prioritization and organizational skills.
- A valid driver's license and a reliable personal vehicle for regional travel.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including a 4-day, 10-hour shift rotation, and be available for on‑call duties and after‑hours support.
