IT Support, Hardware Engineer
Position Overview
A leading organization is seeking a Data Center Technician I to support hardware infrastructure and data center operations. This role involves troubleshooting server issues, performing hardware repairs, and supporting daily data center activities. The ideal candidate has basic to intermediate system administration skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and infrastructure issues
- Perform server hardware replacements and repairs
- Support basic system administration tasks and resolve server-related issues
- Assist with network troubleshooting (TCP/IP)
- Maintain accurate documentation and update ticketing systems
- Follow detailed instructions and adhere to operational procedures
- Collaborate with team members and share technical knowledge
- Ensure compliance with security and safety protocols.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of experience with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP)
- 1+ year of experience with server/computer hardware components
- Basic Linux/Unix command line knowledge
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to take direction and adapt to feedback.
- CompTIA or related certifications (optional)
- Experience with ticketing systems and technical documentation
- Understanding of data center infrastructure (cooling systems, power distribution).
- Hardware troubleshooting, repair, and replacement
- Basic network troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
- Knowledge of data center operations and equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Work in variable temperature conditions within a data center
- Exposure to dust and airborne particles
- Compliance with security protocols, including daily metal detector screening.
