Description
The Data Center Operations Technician (Level
3) supports critical infrastructure and server hardware across data centers. This role ensures high availability by performing advanced troubleshooting, hardware remediation, network support, and facility inspections. Technicians maintain operational excellence through strict adherence to security, safety, and compliance requirements. They collaborate with engineering, networking, and security teams to rapidly resolve issues, manage capacity, and uphold the reliability customers depend on.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform advanced server diagnostics, break‑fix repair, and component replacement for hardware.
- Install, configure, and decommission servers and network gear following standards.
- Monitor and respond to data center alarms, hardware health alerts, and operational events.
- Support network infrastructure through fiber/copper patching, connectivity testing, and switch installs.
- Track, audit, and manage inventory including servers, parts, tools, and consumables.
- Conduct physical infrastructure checks (power, cooling, cabling, rack integrity).
- Maintain strict security practices including badge control, visitor escorts, and audit compliance.
- Document work through tickets, change records, and operational logs.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to perform capacity planning and root‑cause analysis.
- Participate in on‑call rotations and support maintenance windows.

AdditionalSkills & Qualifications
Hardware Expertise:
Strong knowledge of server architecture, component‑level repair, diagnostics tools, and OEM hardware.
Networking Fundamentals:
Understanding of TCP/IP, cabling standards, patching, link testing, and basic switch configuration.
Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis:
Ability to evaluate technical symptoms, isolate faults, and drive issues to resolution.
Operational Excellence:
Familiarity with ITIL practices, ticketing systems, SOP adherence, and change management.
Physical Infrastructure Knowledge:
Experience with racks, PDUs, UPS systems, cable management, airflow, and cooling principles.
Security & Compliance:
Awareness of data center security protocols, access control, and audit requirements.
Soft Skills:
Clear communication, teamwork, ability to work under pressure, strong time management, and attention to detail.
Tools Proficiency:
Use of KVMs, crash carts, cable testers, power measurement tools, and diagnostic utilities.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
