Join our dynamic AWS team and become a critical guardian of global cloud infrastructure. You will maintain the heartbeat of the world‑wide AWS platform, ensuring seamless data center operations that power millions of businesses and services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on servers, storage, power and cooling equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair network and server hardware issues, responding to operational incidents that impact service availability.
- Carry out routine network, server hardware and operating system repairs to contribute to overall availability of AWS services.
- Serve as a primary contact for internal and external stakeholders including engineers, developers, vendors and contractors.
- Participate in on‑call duties, scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
- Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
- Help interview, train and onboard new team members.
- Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds.
- Working in cramped and/or elevated locations, bending, stretching and reaching.
- Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs and gangways safely.
- Work in an industrial environment and on shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (including nights, weekends and holidays).
- Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational.
- Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility.
- Candidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required.
- Take ownership of technical issues brought by the customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution.
- Show a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving, solving problems at root.
- Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
- Act independently in the absence of direction or support.
- Improve effectiveness through process innovation.
- Work shift work that includes days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- 2+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting experience, or related IT experience.
- 2+ years of computer layer 1/2 networking (troubleshooting and repair) experience.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Knowledge of network design, protocols and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux administration.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT‑related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering).
- Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
- Experience training and onboarding of new team members.
