Requirements
- We require flexibility to work a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- We require at least 18 months of experience troubleshooting computer or server hardware, or closely related IT work.
- We require at least 18 months of experience with Layer 1/2 networking, including diagnostics and repair.
- We prefer experience in a data center or other mission‑critical environment.
- We prefer a bachelor's degree, or equivalent professional or military experience, in an IT‑related discipline such as computer science or network engineering.
- We prefer industry‑recognized certifications such as CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+.
- We prefer familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems.
- We prefer prior experience with behavioral interviewing, hiring, training, or onboarding new team members.
- We assign and prioritize trouble tickets for data center technicians and operators.
- We manage the performance of diverse data center operations teams across multiple locations.
- We develop career paths for employees and maintain updates in our internal systems.
- We recruit and train technicians to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- We oversee daily data center operations, including queue management, 24/7 shift scheduling, and hardware logistics.
- We track and drive operational KPIs and performance metrics to ensure targets are met.
- We encourage process improvement, technical innovation, and automation across the team.
- We lead major incident events and serve as the incident call leader during outages.
- We improve operational workflows and throughput for data center activities.
- We recommend, document, and uphold policies and procedures that align with industry best practices and service‑level agreements.
- We manage the on‑call schedule and coordinate absences and vacations.
- We focus on service quality, service volume, and continuous customer experience improvement.
- We resolve technical issues raised by customers and involve other teams when needed.
- We work to identify root causes and consider the broader operational context when solving problems.
- We support service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
- We travel within and outside the regional work area as required.
- We work shifts that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- We maintain a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver's license for regional travel.
