Work Requirements
- Shift options include Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM or 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
- Contingent workers are expected to work holidays if scheduled (regular pay, not holiday pay)
- First two weeks:
Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (Training)
As a Data Center Technician, you serve as one of many primary resolvers for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues. You support and share knowledge of these technologies with team members. You possess basic to intermediate system administration skills and work autonomously to resolve server issues. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support.
You know how to take direction when given, paying attention to all details involved. You work well with a team. You are receptive to feedback and able to adjust performance and behavior as required for the position.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Networking knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP (2+ years)
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems (2+ years)
- Familiarity with hardware components inside a server/computer (2+ years)
- Experience with server hardware (2+ years)
- Understanding of storage devices
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Ability to perform hardware replacements and repairs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Receptive to feedback and able to adjust performance and behavior as required
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Industry certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+)
- Associate's degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience
- A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
- Data center experience (2+ years)
- Ability to perform hardware replacements and repairs
- Understanding of cooling systems and power distribution
- Linux/Unix command line knowledge
- Experience with ticketing systems and documentation
- Ability to perform intermediate network troubleshooting
- Works within a team with responsibilities that may span multiple site locations within a single region
- Applies knowledge and technical skill to build, implement, and meet assigned goals
Focuses on tactical execution where the problem, opportunity, and strategy are already defined - Trains new team members, sharing technical knowledge to support team development and continuity
- Must successfully pass through metal detection equipment daily
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Standing/walking for extended periods
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Capability to work in various environmental conditions
- Temperature fluctuations dependent on seasonal changes and external weather conditions
- Work areas may contain environmental allergens and airborne particles including dust
- Ability to adapt to varying temperature conditions within the data center environment
- Ability to follow required security protocols including metal detection screening
