Network Engineer, IT Support
AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next‑generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
Key responsibilities- Managing work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
- Troubleshooting networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
- Specifying power and cooling requirements and ensuring hardware racking/stacking completed for new equipment.
- Participating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
- Tracking network rack intake and delivery; working with onsite teams to request rack space, power and cooling for network racks and partnering with network engineers to ensure configurations are ready.
- Building higher‑level networking devices with ‑Scaling peers.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
- Work in an environment that operates 24/7 with ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after‑hours support as needed.
- Work in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments.
- Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing, and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
Travel within and outside of the regional work area is required. A reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license are required.
Qualifications- 1+ years of computer networking experience.
- 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with computer networking, Linux, hardware troubleshooting, repair, and cabling infrastructure best practices.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP.
- Industry standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+) or experience in a relevant field.
- Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools (telnet, test‑net connection, tracert, tracetcp, iperf, ntttcp, dig, packet capture tools).
