Job Overview

Network Install Technicians will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, troubleshoot complex technical scenarios, and implement strategic solutions that keep our network running seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities- Move and implement large enterprise equipment.
- Install fiber and copper cabling and patch cables between equipment.
- Ensure proper safety and security standards are maintained during cabling and rack installation.
- Follow established hardware installation procedures and perform break‑fix activities.
- Use material handling tools and equipment safely.
- Travel within and outside the regional work area as required.
All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
- Work in an environment that operates 24/7 with ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after‑hours support as needed.
- Work in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments.
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
- Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods until assigned facility is operational.
- Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility.
- Candidates must be able to travel over 50 miles or commute less than 50 miles to active data center sites as required by business needs.
PDX is an AWS Gov Cloud region. As required by our contracts with the federal government, effective February 24, 2026, logical access to the AWS Gov Cloud region will be restricted to Amazon employees who are U.S. Citizens. Gov Cloud may not be accessed from outside of the United States.

Basic Qualifications- Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers.
- 18+ months of experience in data center or critical environment or similar technical roles:
Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, Data Center Operations. - 18+ months of experience with network cabling, optic types, and test equipment (VFL, power meter, OTDR, etc.).
- Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT‑related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering, etc.).
- Certifications in a relevant field (CCENT, Network+, CCNA).
- Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.
Base salary range: $30.00 – $54.00 USD hourly (location based). Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
