The Hermiston School District is seeking applicants for the position of Special Programs Bilingual Support. The successful candidate will provide support to Hermiston School District staff in meeting the educational needs of bilingual students. The Special Programs Bilingual Support is the link between bilingual parents and the school. Responsibilities include outreach with school links, providing parent and teacher trainings; and providing classroom materials and oral/written translations when needed.
Position begins August 2026.

- Provide classroom materials and oral/written translations when needed.
- Act as the link between bilingual parents and the school.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute and computer literacy for word processing.
- Experience and/or knowledge working on a computer; familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Power School experience is desired.
- Demonstrated standards of moral character and behavior as required of teachers (e.g., to serve as an effective role model).
- Bilingual/Bi‑Literate in English and Spanish (ability to read, speak, write, and communicate effectively in both languages).
- Ability to follow written and oral directions.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work successfully in a team setting with fellow employees, students, staff, and the public.
- Experience and/or training in bilingual/bicultural interpretations (written/verbal) within educational environments.
- Maintain a flexible schedule; evening and occasional weekend meetings are required.
- Reliable and insured transportation required.
- Previous experience providing support services to parents and/or students.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree is highly desirable.
- Experience or training in providing training to adults.
Salary range: $17.24 to $24.25 per hour, depending on prior experience.
Normal contract year: 197 days, including 5 paid holidays.
