Definition Of Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic team at. Under general direction with minimal supervision, this role is responsible for the management and coordination of multiple highly complex projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. Oversees all aspects of the project lifecycle: initiating (scope, charter, and goals), planning (budget, timeline, and milestones), executing (project, team, and change management), and closing (user acceptance and support turnover).

Daily, this position leads multi-disciplinary teams composed of various levels of personnel, vendors, and clients. Acts as a lead and/or mentor to less experienced team members.

Responsibilities
  • Project Planning
    • Simultaneously lead multiple technology projects
    • Perform capacity planning & resource estimations
    • Lead, facilitate, and inform the management of initiatives
    • Support resource coordination
    • Provide input on and assist with the IT capital/operating budget and strategic planning
  • Project Execution
    • Lead multiple complex projects
    • Works collaboratively with cross-disciplinary leadership teams and serves as the single point of IT contact for assigned projects
    • Liaison, facilitator, and results-oriented leader between Good Shepherd and technology vendors
    • Develops and implements migration strategies and plans for continuity of operations during the deployment of new technology
    • Responsible for the successful (time, cost, scope, quality) execution of projects
  • Team Leadership & Standards
    • Support standardization of methodology and process
    • Promote issue and risk management approaches/processes
    • Guide and mentor team members to achieve complex deliverables
    • Promote a culture that reflects the organization’s values and spirit of service that encourages good performance and enhances productivity.

    • The employee supports the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
    • Participates in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position (reference program education curriculum).
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Required:

      High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Preferred:
      Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • Licenses/ certifications/ registrations
    • Required:

      Project Management Professional (PMP). If the selected candidate does not possess one of the PMP certifications at time of hire, then he/she/they will be required to achieve that certification as a condition of employment within six months of their start date.
  • Experience
    • A minimum of six (6) years’ relevant work experience required.
    • Project management experience in a healthcare setting.
    • Proven ability to develop program/project structure, detailed project management plans, schedules, resource plans, and status reports.
    • Ability to work with senior leaders (C‑suite, Directors, Managers) to define and prioritize organizational initiatives.
    • Ability to work with vendors and staff with different skills sets and backgrounds.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Project, Teams, and Excel.
    • Strong analytical skills.
  • Preferred
    • Master’s degree in project management, business administration, or a related field.
    • Experience working in an Epic Community Connect environment.
    • Experience working in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH).

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional walking, standing, bending, or lifting light office items (up to 25 pounds). Visual acuity to view computer screens and read detailed financial documents. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically. May be required to move throughout the healthcare facility, including administrative and clinical areas.

Working Conditions

This position operates in a professional office setting within a healthcare facility. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The office environment is climate-controlled, well-lit, and ergonomically designed for extended computer work. While this role is primarily office-based and does not involve direct patient care, the employee may occasionally be present in clinical areas or interact with staff working in clinical environments.

There is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases. The organization provides appropriate training and personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed to ensure safety.
