This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all equipment located within the production area of the facility and for performing maintenance functions throughout the plant as assigned or directed by supervisory personnel while working under limited supervision.

• Maintain safe work practices and participate in safety programs.
• Perform routine and non‑routine tasks as established by engineering and maintenance leadership.
• Perform emergency repairs with minimal supervision as required.
• Keep documentation up to date and accurately track time spent on tasks.
• Familiar with proper start‑up and shutdown of production equipment.
• Perform equipment repair, overhaul, and troubleshooting of mechanical and technical equipment; change and replace belts, sprockets, bearings, chains, motors, etc.
• Evaluate equipment for performance, perform adjustments, replace parts as needed to assure uninterrupted production of quality potato products.
• Perform structurally sound welds and acceptable cutting using appropriate cutting and welding equipment.
• Work any shift, any day of the week, or overtime in accordance with production and maintenance schedules.
• Read and understand prints, sketches, diagrams, operating instructions, and technical manuals.
• Maintain a neat, orderly work area and follow instructions given in work logs, work orders, and equipment manuals.
• Support and promote CPS programs such as 5S and Center‑lining throughout the plant.
• Give direction and training to lower bracketed mechanics as needed.
• Communicate and work with other associates in a positive manner.

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Basic mathematics skills.

• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Limited supervision required to complete work assignments.
• Set up and weld mild & stainless steel in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions using SMAW, MIG, & TIG welders.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Proper use of all basic hand tools, power hand tools, and shop tools.
• Set‑up and cut with oxy‑acetylene; perform basic plumbing runs and repairs.
• Knowledge of basic mechanical nomenclature and sheet‑metal fabrication.
• Maintain knowledge of hazards and safety procedures.
• Operate forklift and mechanical lifts safely; plant certification required.
• Attend confined space training and be a confined space rescue team member.
• Use respiratory protection equipment and comply with Lamb Weston Respiratory Protection Program.
• Meet requirements for Hazardous Materials Technician and Emergency Response Team Member per 29 CFR .

• Lift, push, pull, and stand up to 50 lb.
• Be able to stand, bend, squat, kneel, reach, climb ladders, and crawl in tight and awkward workplaces for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Work in environments ranging from sub‑zero to 90 °F, with exposure to noise, vibration, fumes, dust, and slippery surfaces.
