Co-Product Technician – Dayshift/B

The Co-Product Technician role will safely and efficiently operate and adjust all equipment in multiple processing and packaging areas; monitor product quality, line flow rates, and waste streams; identify and solve problems that affect safety, quality, and production costs; and make line changes to improve processes based on Core 4 principles while collaborating with Production Leads, Team Leaders, and Line Structure Teams.
The Technician will seamlessly transition between qualified jobs on their shift to support plant needs and meet Hermiston’s CBN goals.
- Operate cohesively with all Co-Product team members in the management of processing and packaging areas, covering all job functions from L3/4 even flows through Co-Product rapistan.
- Perform all Daily Management System standards per schedule: CILs, FSILs, CLs, and defect handling.
- Conduct checks per procedure and upon request of Production Lead, Team Leaders, and Line Structure Team.
- Own daily line sanitation, including line break sanitation processes, general housekeeping, and maintaining a food‑safe work environment.
- Perform end‑of‑cycle sanitation for both processing and packaging lines.
- Utilize root‑cause analysis using IPS and UPS tools and participate in resulting events.
- Engage in scheduled pillar activities to reduce top losses and meet site goals.
- Conduct peer‑to‑peer handoff with top losses and unresolved issues to ensure line success on and off shift.
- Actively participate in Lamb Weston Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice programs.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; high school diploma or GED required for basic qualification.
- 1–2 years of experience in food manufacturing or a related field.
- Must be able to communicate, comprehend, and follow instructions in English (both written and oral).
- Qualification in L2/3 Formed Product, L2/3 Co‑Product Packaging, and Sanitation.
- Qualification in Lock Out/Tag Out on L2/3 equipment.
- Functions well in a team environment.
- Demonstrates capable troubleshooting and critical‑thinking skills.
- Basic proficiency in PC skills:
Windows, Word, and Excel.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
- Operate in noisy, hot/cold, and potentially slippery conditions.
- Apply repetitive arm, wrist, and hand movements.
- Work with hands and arms overhead; work inside or under equipment.
- Occasional ladder climbing and stair climbing.
- Specific vision: close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Pay Rate: $26.59 per hour (est.)
