Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN) – Travel Nursing Contract (13 Weeks) | Hermiston, OR 97838

We are seeking an Interventional Radiology (IR) Registered Nurse (RN) for an on-site travel nursing assignment in Hermiston, OR 97838. This IR RN travel job is a strong fit for nurses with ICU, ED, Cath Lab, or IR experience interested in image-guided procedural nursing.

In this role, you’ll support catheter-based and image-guided interventions by delivering safe, efficient, patient-centered care across the peri-procedural continuum—partnering closely with physicians, radiology technologists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Interventional Radiology RN Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year RN experience in critical care (ICU), emergency department (ED), cardiac cath lab, and/or interventional radiology
  • License: Active, unrestricted Oregon RN license
  • Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Preferred Experience: 3+ years IR/Cath Lab experience; conscious/moderate sedation training; monitor role experience
  • Preferred Credentials: Specialty certifications such as RCIS and/or NIH Stroke Scale; IV certification
  • Additional Preference: Bilingual English/Spanish and comfort working with culturally diverse populations
Key Responsibilities (IR RN / Cath Lab / Procedural Nursing)
  • Provide peri-procedural nursing care for invasive and minimally invasive procedures (e.g., angiography, embolization, cardiac catheterization, and other image-guided interventions)
  • Function in circulator, scrub, and/or monitor roles as assigned while maintaining patient safety, sterile technique, and efficient procedural flow
  • Administer medications as ordered (including anticoagulants, vasoactive agents, contrast, and emergency medications) and monitor for therapeutic response
  • Deliver moderate sedation per protocol when assigned, maintaining continuous assessment of hemodynamics, oxygenation/ventilation, and level of consciousness
  • Recognize and respond rapidly to complications (e.g., arrhythmias, bleeding, contrast reactions, stroke alerts, cardiac arrest) and initiate appropriate interventions
  • Support contrast allergy identification and communication, ensuring allergy considerations are addressed during pre-procedure planning and time-out
  • Assist with patient preparation and positioning; verify key clinical factors such as allergies, NPO status, and renal function per policy
  • Perform sheath pulls and vascular access management as needed and within scope/policy
  • Operate and troubleshoot monitoring and clinical equipment (e.g., hemodynamic recorders, ECG, pulse oximetry, infusion/PCA pumps) and document accurately
  • Maintain accurate procedural documentation including supplies, implants, contrast usage, medications, and key events
  • Contribute to department readiness through room turnover, supply/par management, and equipment cleaning/charging/storage
  • Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel and serve as a patient advocate throughout the care experience
