Job Requirements
  • Associate of Science in Nursing required;
    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Oregon
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • TNCC certification required
  • At least 1 year of experience in an operating room or perioperative setting preferred (Perioperative Nurse / OR RN experience)
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced surgical environment
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills for effective collaboration with surgical teams
  • Commitment to providing empathetic, culturally competent, and ethical patient care
Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe, effective, and quality patient- and family-centered care in the operating room and perioperative services (surgical nursing)
  • Serve as a patient advocate and supervise assigned personnel when needed
  • Implement, document, and update the plan of care, ensuring patient safety and protection from injury
  • Perform accounting procedures to prevent retained surgical items and participate in surgical counts
  • Ensure correct site, side, and level verification (time-out procedures) for all surgical cases
  • Manage patient specimens and documentation according to policy
  • Administer medications safely and monitor the patient’s physiological status throughout perioperative care
  • Implement infection prevention strategies to protect patients from surgical site infections
  • Maintain patient rights, dignity, and privacy during all phases of surgical care
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical techs, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain required competencies, pursue professional growth, and complete mandatory education
  • Float to other departments as qualified, if needed
