Roles & Responsibilities   Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
Act as a strong patient advocate throughout the surgical experience
Direct and supervise assigned personnel, ensuring safe and effective care
Utilize the nursing process and established standards of care to inform clinical decisions
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures to maintain a safe surgical environment
Float to other departments as needed to support patient care before core staff is floated
Participate in the unit's on-call rotation and respond as required
Qualifications   Registered Nurse (RN) — title and role explicitly required
Experience in perioperative nursing (preoperative, intraoperative, postoperative care)
Comfort with serving as a circulating nurse and with patient advocacy in the OR
Ability to float to other departments where qualified and to participate in on-call rotations
Experience directing or supervising assigned staff in a clinical setting
Knowledge & Skills   Perioperative nursing practices and the nursing process
Standards of care and policy/procedure compliance in surgical settings
Circulating nurse responsibilities, including intraoperative support
Strong patient advocacy and communication skills
Ability to supervise and coordinate assigned personnel
