Position: Registered Nurse Neurology-7

Job Summary

The Neurology RN provides specialized nursing care to patients with neurological conditions such as stroke, seizures, traumatic brain injuries, spinal disorders, neurosurgical cases, and degenerative neurological diseases. This role requires strong assessment skills, rapid response abilities, and proficiency in managing neurological changes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and monitor neurological status including Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), pupil response, motor function, and cognitive changes.
  • Provide nursing care to patients with stroke, seizures, head injuries, spinal injuries, and neurosurgical post‑op cases.
  • Administer medications including thrombolytics, anti‑seizure meds, and neuro‑specific infusions.
  • Monitor vital signs, assess changes in neurological condition, and report promptly.
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures (CT, MRI, EEG).
  • Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Perform frequent neuro checks and document findings accurately.
  • Educate patients and families on neurological conditions, treatments, and rehabilitation.
  • Maintain safety measures for seizure precautions and fall‑risk patients.
  • Respond to neurological emergencies quickly and efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Active RN License (State-specific).
  • BSN preferred (not required in all facilities).
  • Experience in Neurology, Neuro Stepdown, or Neuro ICU preferred.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Strong neurological assessment skills.
  • Ability to manage complex and rapidly changing patient conditions.
