Overview

Med, Dental & Vision benefits paid by Employer. Up to $20,000 Sign‑On Bonus. Wage Range: $46.78 - $79.58 per hour. Flex Schedule. Full‑time, 36 hrs/week. Float Pool. Covers one open day shift, one open night shift, and other shifts as needed.

Definition of Position

The Registered Nurse provides direct and individualized nursing care to patients across multiple clinical settings. This role requires demonstrated competency in at least two of the following three primary nursing areas:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Medical‑Surgical (Med‑Surg), and Emergency Room (ER). The RN is responsible for assessing patient conditions, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes, responding quickly to changes in patient condition, initiating the computerized Plan of Care on admission, and performing general nursing duties across departments under appropriate supervision as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure
  • Demonstrate clinical competence and provide safe, effective care in at least two of the three primary nursing areas: ICU, Medical‑Surgical, and Emergency Room
  • Accept responsibility for the direction, control, and planning of patient care activities
  • Make evaluations and decisions based on measurable or verifiable criteria
  • Work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Recognize the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality
  • Convey empathy and compassion to those experiencing pain, grief, or trauma
  • Relate to others in a manner that creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation
  • Communicate effectively and therapeutically with people from every socioeconomic background
  • Incorporate guest relations in daily activities
  • Provide care appropriate to the patient’s age‑specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial well‑being
  • Support the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures
  • Participate in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position (reference program education curriculum)
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills through continuing education and professional development
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education

  • Required:

    Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Preferred: BSN, MSN

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations

  • Required:

    Evidence of continuing education appropriate for skill level and area of practice.
  • Required:

    Current RN license in the State of Oregon; BLS, ACLS, and PALS
  • Preferred:
    Certified Medical‑Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN), Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), and/or Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN).

  • Required:

    None.
  • Preferred:
    Previous Medical‑Surgical nursing

The physical and sensory functions described below are essential to the successful performance of this position. The position requires sufficient auditory ability to detect and respond to various sounds, including patient alarms and verbal communication. Clear and effective communication is essential, as is the ability to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Visual acuity is necessary for observing patient conditions, reading documentation and monitors, and distinguishing colors for clinical purposes, such as identifying medications or safety indicators.

Tactile perception is important for assessing physical characteristics such as temperature, size, shape, or texture during patient care. Motor coordination is required for reaching, grasping, handling, and performing fine motor tasks necessary for the use of medical equipment and procedures.

The position also involves occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling when assisting patients or accessing equipment.
